We need new leadership in Congress. Or at least some leadership in Congress. When Democrats start voting against core issues, against the constitution, and for things like spying on American citizens without a warrent it makes me angry beyond belief.
We have a chance to send a new batch of leadership to Congress. Folks who will take a stand when necessary. Charlie Brown in California's Fourth district is one such candidate. He wrote a diary on kos about telcom immunity today: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/6/24/ 141324/524/802/541253

Reuters incorrectly reported that Al Gore said he was not running for President yesterday while promoting his movie in Japan. Well it appears they were wrong. They have a new story about his trip.
Read the new story here ...
The one-time presidential candidate did not answer questions from the media on Monday. None of the business executives at the event asked him about rumors that he might build on the higher profile created by his environmental campaign to stand for the presidency again.
What a bunch of morons.
For those of us who want Gore to run ... we still have hope!
I just noticed that Al Gore has launched a new website: http://www.algore.com/. He is asking people to sign a postcard that he intenends to deliver to Congress later this winter to try to get them to do something about global warming. He wants 1,000,000 postcards. I hope everyone goes to his site and signs one.
Does anyone think that this could be the beginning of Gore's comeback? I noticed that he is headed to Iowa on 1/23. Is that another sign? Also, the website is registered to Roy Neel, Gore's chief of staff in the WH and Howard Dean's campaign manager (for the last few weeks).
It looks like Al Gore may be planning a run for president. If he does I think I may jump on board early. He appeared at a fundraiser with Bill Clinton and Howard Dean and helped to raise over 1 million dollars for the DNC.
He was also recently on the cover of Vanity Fair's "green issue."
I really hope Al Gore runs. It might be kind of weird to think about him running against Hillary, but who else can beat her?

From Itstime's diary at daily kos.
The Union Leader reported today that the NH Republican State Senate Victory PAC is breaking the law and accepting corporate contributions at an event connected with none other then Senator John McCain, a.k.a. Mr. Campaign Finance Reform. Republican State Senate President Ted Gatsas admitted that corporate checks have already been accepted for the event, even though the invitation he sent out clearly states that, "No corporate or labor funds will be accepted." Under McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance reform laws, federal office holders are prohibited from soliciting corporate or labor donations unless it is for a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. This is a clear violation of that law.
